computer Transfer

Move recordings to a computer.

You can copy recordings through the built-in Wi-Fi transfer feature or by connecting the device with a USB cable. This guide also explains where the recordings folder is located.

Transferring files via Wi-Fi requires both devices to be connected to the same local network.

  1. Open the WiFi Transfer screen in the recorder app.
  2. Connect your phone and computer to the same Wi-Fi network.
  3. Follow the instructions displayed in the app.

USB transfer

On Android, the recordings directory is usually visible only after connecting the phone to a computer by USB and enabling File Transfer.

  • Unlock your phone.
  • Connect it to the computer using a USB cable.
  • Tap the Charging this device via USB notification.
  • Under Use USB for, choose File Transfer.
  • A file transfer window should open on the computer.
  • Open the recordings folder at /Android/data/com.first75.voicerecorder2/files/Recordings.
  • The app can also show the selected folder in Settings > Files Options > Directory.
  • Eject the phone from Windows when finished, then unplug the cable.

Recordings located in Recently deleted are hidden and do not appear in the recordings folder.

warning

If you uninstall the Android app without selecting an option such as Keep app data, Android may remove the entire app data folder together with your recordings.

Where the recordings folder is located

For the main Android Voice Recorder app, recordings are stored here:

  • Voice Recorder: /Android/data/com.first75.voicerecorder2/files/Recordings

This folder is usually easiest to access while the phone is connected to a computer over USB.

If USB transfer does not work

  • Restart the phone.
  • Try a different USB cable, as some cables only support charging.
  • Test the computer’s USB port with another device.
  • If possible, try a different computer to rule out device or driver issues.
